Wheel balancing and alignment are 2 very different things but people often get them confused.

Wheel Alignment involves the correct angling of your wheels so that they are perpendicular to the road and parallel to each other. It reduces wear of your tyres and when done correctly will stop your vehicle ‘pulling’ off to one side of the road.

You may be in need of Wheel Alignment if you experience any of the following.

  • Your tyres are wearing unevenly.
  • Pulling effect to one side of the road away from the centre line.
  • Steering wheel is not centred when travelling on a straight road.
  • Unsteadiness on a straight level road.

Wheel Balancing allows the wheel and tyre combination to spin without causing vibrations. It is done by finding any heavy spots on your wheels and counteracting this by placing lead weights on the other side of the wheel.

Your wheels may need to be balanced if you experience any of the following.

  • Vibration in the steering wheel when travelling at speeds over 80km/p/h.
  • Vibrations felt through the seat or floors of the vehicle.
  • Uneven tyre wear.
